I don’t know about all of you but over the years I have tried out a wide variety of different brands of foundation, a few times I have found a foundation that was worthy of a repeat purchase but in general I haven’t remained loyal to one particular type. The latest one I have given a go is NYX Studio Photogenique Foundation.
The packaging is fairly typical of the NYX range, nothing too fancy, just a plastic squeezable bottle. The foundation itself is of a medium consistency, not too thick not overly runny either. I went for the shade natural. I would say the coverage this foundation gives would be medium, I use a brush to apply foundation on my face, I never liked using a beauty blender much, the foundation spreads well on the face and a small amount goes a long way. The one thing I didn’t like about the product was the smell. It reminded me of makeup my Mum would have used in the 80’s, if you are over 30 you will know what I mean. The foundation gives the skin a reasonably matt look and does not slide off the face, go cakey or appear greasy when it’s on the face for a few hours. I have been using this as an everyday foundation as I prefer a foundation with a greater coverage for a night out. All in all I would give the makeup 7/10, I don’t know if I will buy it again as it’s not very versatile. Therefore my quest for the perfect foundation continues!…..
